A lot has happened with regard to elections in the State of Michigan.  This year the Townships and Cities will be handling all Federal, State, Local and School elections.  In the past, the schools handled their own elections.

Because of this new legislation, there will be some changes with regard to where residents will go to vote.  These changes will appear on your new Voter Identification card, which were mailed in mid-April.  Please contact the Township if you have not received your new ID card.

  • Township residents with a Benton Harbor Post Office address will vote at Napier Parkview Baptist Church, 266 Chippewa Road.  This is where you will vote for ALL elections.

  • Township residents that have voted at the Christian Reformed Church on Washington Avenue will now vote at Peace Lutheran Church, 3590 Lincoln Avenue (NW corner of Maiden Lane and Lincoln Avenue).  This is where you will vote for ALL elections.

  • Township residents that vote at Brown School Elementary will vote at St. Joseph Charter Township Hall, 3000 Washington Avenue, for SCHOOL elections ONLY.  You will continue to vote at Brown School for all Federal, State and Local elections.

  • Township residents that vote at the St. Joseph Township Hall for ALL elections will continue to vote there for ALL elections.  There is NO CHANGE in your polling location.

Anyone meeting the criteria and wishing to be on our Permanent Absentee Voter list, or with questions on their new voter registration card, can contact Shari at 429-7703.
